Improved method for measuring fibrinogen in plasma, with use of a plasmin inhibitor.

چکیده
We describe a modified procedure for quantitating plasma fibrinogen by use of the thrombin-clottable protein technique. The method is accurate and requires a0out 30 min to complete. During its formation and isolation, the clot is protected from the degradative action of plasmin by an inhibitor, epsilon-aminocaproic acid.

Simple, sensitive method for measuring plasmin and plasminogen activity in plasma.
We describe a sensitive, simple, and rapid method for measuring plasmin and plasminogen in plasma, with fibrinogen as substrate. The assay can be done within 1 h. Plasma is diluted 20-fold with buffer and 0.1 ml (5 mul of original plasma) is incubated for 5 min at 37 degrees C, with or without 400 units of streptokinase. Then 2.0 ml of fibrinogen solution is added, the mixture again incubated (...
متن کاملPreparation of Plasminogen by Affinity Chromatography
Background: Plasminogen is one of the compounds derived from human plasma. Activation of plasminogen produces plasmin. Plasmin is able to lyse fibrinogen, fibrin, and some other human plasma proteins. The aim of the present work was to study the separation of human plasminogen by affinity chromatography using gel lysine Sepharose. Materials and Methods: Normal human plasma was used as the...

itor in blood plasma is higher than that in serum obtained from the blood clotted in the presence ofcalcium ions, but is the same as that in serum obtained in the absence of calcium ions. Radiolabeled a2-plasmin inhibitor was covalently bound to fibrin only when calcium ions were present at the time of clotting of plasma or fibrinogen. Whereas, when batroxobin, a snake venom enzyme that lacks t...

We assayed plasma concentrations of fibrinogen, fibrinopeptide A, plasmin-alpha 2 plasmin inhibitor complex, D dimer, and antithrombin III activity in 40 patients with cerebral thrombosis and nine patients with cerebral embolism during the acute (less than 7 days), subacute (7-27 days), and chronic (greater than or equal to 28 days) periods and compared these with 69 controls. In cerebral throm...
متن کاملPlasma Fibrinogen and D-dimer in Children With Sepsis: A Single-center Experience
Background & Objectives: In sepsis, enhanced fibrin formation, impaired fibrin degradation, and intravascular fibrin deposition lead to a prothrombotic state. The current study aimed at measuring various coagulation parameters to predict an early marker for disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Methods: The current prospective s...
